The Events: A Battle Against Time and Weight
This year's competition offers an exciting and challenging lineup of events that will test both strength and technique.
-
Farmers Walk – With iron cases weighing 155 kg per hand, the athletes must run 15 meters, set down the weights, and return 15 meters to the starting line. They compete in pairs, which increases the intensity and pressure in this test of strength that demands both grip strength and speed.
-
Deadlift for Reps – The goal is to lift 340 kg as many times as possible in 60 seconds. No aids like straps or suits are allowed, and the barbell used is a powerlifting bar, making it extra heavy. This makes the event a pure strength competition in its most classic form.
-
Log Press for Reps – With a weight of 140 kg, the log must be pressed overhead as many times as possible in 90 seconds. Athletes compete side by side in this pressing challenge.
-
NTGear Sandbag Loading Medley – Here, four sandbags, two weighing 140 kg and two weighing 160 kg, must be lifted onto podiums. The 140 kg bag must be lifted onto a 150 cm podium, and the 160 kg bag onto a 130 cm podium. With their backs to each other, the athletes must quickly and efficiently transport the bags to their respective podiums, requiring both strength and strategy.
-
Tyngre Tire Flip Medley – A massive tire weighing 460 kg must be flipped three times, followed by a "Duck walk" with a weight of 225 kg to the finish line. This event tests endurance and strength in a unique format.
-
Jinert Yoke/Frame Carry – With a yoke/frame weighing 460 kg, the athletes must walk 15 meters as quickly as possible. This event not only tests strength but also the body's ability to stabilize heavy weight while moving.
-
Atlas Stones for Reps – In the final event, athletes must choose between lifting 180 kg or 210 kg Atlas Stones. A lift of 210 kg is worth more points than all repetitions with 180 kg, offering a strategic opportunity for the strongest and most tactical athletes.
