Latest updates on Sweden's Strongest Man 2023:

Recent news includes Andreas Ståhlberg, the reigning champion, announcing his withdrawal from the competition on 29/9. Jesper Hansson, who was previously a reserve, now takes Ståhlberg's place. This change has added an extra dimension of excitement to the competition. Athletes in Sweden's Strongest Man 2023:

Events in Sweden's Strongest Man 2023:

  • Squat: This was chosen by Andreas Ståhlberg before his withdrawal. The competition will involve lifting 285 kg without the use of knee wraps or a suit. Athletes will squat down to boxes measured to their height, ensuring equal depth for all.
  • Tire Flip: Marcus Yngvesson has chosen this classic, where the large and heavy tire is to be flipped eight times.
  • Yoke: Fredrik Svensson chose the yoke where athletes will walk four times five meters with ascending weights - 400 kg, 440 kg, 480 kg, and finally 520 kg. After each stretch, athletes get a ten-second rest while loaders add the weights.
  • Log Press: Joachim Kvick chose this press event. Athletes start by pressing a log weighing 150 kg, followed by 165 kg and finally as many reps as they can at 180 kg.
  • Medley: Johan Espenkrona chose a medley of Fingal's Finger and Sandbag Carry. This involves first flipping the finger, then carrying a 150 kg sack to a podium that is 130 cm high, and then doing the same thing again.
  • Apollon's Axle Deadlift: Cim Johansson chose this grip challenging deadlift with an Apollon’s axle with an overhand grip, without the use of lifting straps.
  • Deadlift or Wheel Deadlift: The last event, either deadlift or wheel deadlift with maximum weight or repetitions, will be determined through an exciting coin toss.
